Collaborate Ultra
What is Collaborate Ultra?
Collaborate Ultra is a synchronous online classroom that enables staff and students to interact in real time. It can be compared to video conferencing platforms such as Teams or Zoom but unlike the other tools it has been specifically designed for education. Feature include the ability to:
- see and hear other people in the ‘room’
- present slides,
- share your screen
- ask questions via the collaborate Poll
- comunicate via text
- record your session

Tips for guest lecturers invited to use Collaborate for the first time
- Turn slides into a PDF
- File can’t be more than 60 mb
- Collaborate Ultra is not good a playing video/audio. This is best achieved by putting the link into the chat for students to access independently
- Log in to your session at least 15 before the start
- Use the Chrome browser if possible, otherwise Firefox is also recommended. Other browsers can be used but may have limited functionality.
- Where possible check your setup with a UAL staff member prior to your session
